Are statins safe?

💊High blood pressure?

Wʜʏ ᴀʀᴇɴ’ᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ɪɴғᴏʀᴍᴇᴅ ʙʏ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ that if you eat a grapefruit 🍊 every day and take a high-quality omega-3 🐟 supplement, that it will help to lower your blood pressure naturally?

👉This is why people on blood pressure medication can't eat a whole grapefruit and can't start using Omega-3 without consulting a doctor. Omega-3 is ESSENTIAL FOR OUR BODY FUNCTION! And they make us ask permission before using it?

💊Instead, they recommend statins.

Let's dive a little deeper!

Statins that have been linked to muscle pain, digestive problems, and mental fuzziness in some people who take them and may rarely cause liver damage.

Blood sugar (blood glucose) levels may increase when you take a statin, leading to developing type 2 diabetes. The risk is small but important enough that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning on statin labels regarding blood glucose levels and diabetes.

😳Much of what we are taught to believe about diet and health - is based on many myths and flawed research.

💊Statins, for example, is a well-known medicine that says that it should be able to reduce 33% of the relative risk of counteracting a heart attack.

🫀So someone who is afraid of a heart attack would be happy to take this medicine!

👉But how many would ask what is meant by the relative risk? What does it mean? If we had done that, we might not have wanted to take the medicine anyway...

👉So what does that mean?

Of 100 people who took statins, only 2 had a heart attack.

Out of 100 people without medication, 3 had a heart attack.

👉So the difference is only 1% - someone who could be coincidental or due to other factors.

But since 3 had a heart attack in the control group and only 2 when they received medication, it is said that the relative risk can be improved by 33% if you use the medicine.

🙀But would you like to take that medicine when only 1% separated the groups? Especially when there are many potential side effects?

In addition, this 1% could be due to entirely different circumstances and just happened to give such a result... no one had chosen it! Therefore, you will find more imaginative ways to market your medicine!

It is sad to say - a lot of the research we have is still bad and has led to recommendations about health that can be downright dangerous.

We, humans, live in a big experiment, and we eat things our body has not had time to adapt to!

I do not think it is ok when authorities mislead and give dietary recommendations that even harm our health!

🤭We eat a diet that gives us high levels of inflammation right down to the cellular level! Inflammation is the basis of most diseases & health problems.

If you instead limited processed foods, cut out gluten, sugar, and alcohol, it will help lower the inflammatory responses that cause the cholesterol to “help repair” the damage the inflammation has caused your arteries, which leed to build-up, which lead to high blood pressure.
